My art comes from places I don’t fully understand...and I make only a feeble effort to do so. Some of it arises from my imagination, some from my head or my heart, and some from my encounters with the world around me. There is no conscious agenda in my work, no messages and no social issues being plumbed. I like it this way. If there is any one theme or purpose to my work it is my desire to create a sense of place, for myself and for the viewer.

I create images that I find pleasing to my eyes and satisfying to my soul. I feel unencumbered by rules of the trade, and freely move from one medium to the next, often on a whim. It is not unusual for me to have 3-4 pieces of works in progress, each of a different medium.

This is not to imply that I do not take my art seriously. On the contrary, I take my work with the utmost seriousness and am committed to reaching my fullest potential as an artist. I owe this not only to myself, but to all of the patients that I left behind in my pursuit of my art.
